On June 26, 2013, the Bennett Health Care Centre held its Annual General Meeting at historic Devereaux House in Georgetown, Ontario. Audited financial statements for 2012 were presented by Jeff Cabral of KPMG LLP. Irene Simpson was appointed to a three year term on the Board. Terms of three years were renewed for Linda Bischoff, Tom Bentley and Don Burt. Appreciation was expressed for the many contributions of Madonna Benoit, retiring board member and Past-President who was unable to be present. Retiring Board Chair, Wendy Hue was thanked for her term as President and presented with a gift by incoming Chair, Kathy Dorbeck. . The other members of the Executive appointed that evening included: Vice-Chair, Bill Kort, Secretary, Eunice McGowan and Past-Chair, Wendy Hue.
Wendy Hue expressed thanks to Mark Ewer, Administrator, for his significant efforts and support to all during the year and also presented him with a gift. Eunice McGowan was presented with a bouquet of flowers in recognition of her recent award as a "Founder" at the recent celebration of the Ontario Community Support Organization. Director Ann Geh was recognized for her leadership and recent volunteer efforts to beautify the Bennett Centre patio with flowers and a gift certificate.
The Annual Report covering the period June 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013 was presented by Wendy Hue and Mark Ewer (click here for PDF copy).
Kathy Dorbeck and Mark Ewer then gave a presentation on the plans to develop a Continuum of Care for Halton Hills seniors on the Bennett Village campus. The evening ended with a reception for those attending.
